EXPERIENCE IS THE BEST TEACHER-IS IT?

This article is called “Experience is the best Teacher-Is it?” I have heard this saying all my life. I think it may be a way of living for many people, or it may be what they want for life. I mean, after all, it is valuable to many in society, especially in the workforce industry. Do not companies and businesses want to hire someone who has experience in the job they are applying for? So they ask, “What is your education? Where have you worked? What skills do you possess? And what are your past and present work experiences?”

They use your experience as a criterion for employment. And most of the time your pay scale is based on your past and present experience. They want the best person for the job. Yet the person has “FREE WILL” to accept or reject the job. They also have free will to choose their education, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Have you ever been rejected by an employer and been told, “I am sorry but we cannot hire you because you are NOT qualified for the position? You do not possess the knowledge, skills, or abilities that are needed. Go get some experience in this field, then come back and we may consider you.”

Also, many other times you will not be considered for employment because you are over-qualified. That means your experience, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities are far above the normal standard, needed or required for the position. Other times, employers may feel threatened. Understanding that you would probably not be satisfied for long and move on. Then an employer, wonders if they really can afford you.

When employers say this they understand you can do better and probably would in the future. So, hiring you is a risk to them that your work with them would only be temporary until you can find better work, with better benefits and pay.

IS EXPERIENCE THE BEST TEACHER OR IS IT THE CONSEQUENCES OF THE EXPERIENCE?

So far in this article, I have talked about experiences being the best teacher and I wanted to relate it to employment and the workforce. I wanted everyone to see the value of experience and understand it. I think just about everyone can relate to it. Experience helps develop knowledge, skill, and abilities that we all need throughout life. But in the reality of experience, you can NEVER “DISCARD THE  CONSEQUENCE OF THE EXPERIENCE. The consequences are guaranteed, either good or bad.

This is why I asked, “Which one is the real teacher, the experience, the consequence, or both?” I can only say they are tied together and related. Are they 2 sides of the same coin or twins? I will also say, “there are consequences for every action (every experience) we encounter, in LIFE. Those consequences are good or bad, right or wrong.

LIFE IS AN EXPERIENCE WE ALL HAVE WITH CONSEQUENCES

In reality, we start learning and gaining experience the minute we are born. Unfortunately, we all start learning stupid stuff from the very beginning, we just don’t know it at that age. Childhood and life is an experience within itself. Our aspirations and dreams of success do not always become our reality. Too many of us struggle just to be able to exist. Sometimes you look at someone and they look normal, but after a few minutes with them you come to the conclusion that the lights are on in their head, but nobody is home. (Remember all the old dumb blonde jokes?). They actually do exist, today and they work in Congress. Their only quality is how they became professional liars.

Then you have that person who is desperate for a job. Their work history is sordid, and their experience consists of 30 years in prison for drug dealing, alcohol abuse, rape, murder, grand theft, and arson. But here they are applying for a job in law enforcement. Their experience and work history may qualify them, if they are applying for a position at some roadhouse, as a bouncer, or with the Mafia. In simple terms, “their criminal record also doubles as their resume.”

LIFE’S WORK.

Dear Reader, Your life is a WORK in development and progress. This starts at conception and DOES NOT end for us at death. Each human is physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual. This too is a progressive process of development and progress in each and every one of these areas. Do you know what the Bible says about us? Psalm 139:14 “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” Your very creation and conception was and is designed to last forever.

I want to use a comparison for better understanding. In our present high-tech world it is a necessity for humans to have a cell phone or computer for communication. This has become the world’s “OPERATING SYSTEM” for information and communication. This progressive operating system has become a new standard of how we ALL operate in life, society, and communication. This is a new EXPERIENCE for every human, but CONSEQUENCES also come with it.

We, humans, have our own “OPERATING SYSTEM” within us. This system has been designed and given to every human by God.  As I stated above each person is physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual, but we only “OPERATE” in 3 ways. Here they are. 1. We think (our thought process) 2. We Do (That is our actions and our work). 3. We say (this is our speech and communication).

CHRISTIANS HAVE A PERSONAL OPERATING SYSTEM CALLED THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD.  God spoke very seriously about the subject of experience and consequences in His word, He calls it reaping and sowing so here is what He said. Galatians 6:7&8 “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption, but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. Now understand the meaning of the words, God is not mocked, Mocking God means disrespecting, dishonoring, denying, or ignoring His existence. It is a serious offense committed by those who are described as wicked because there is “no fear of God before [their] eyes. Psalm 36:1”

Since God created and designed our operating system, let’s see what God says about it. First, this system is ETERNAL. In computer terms, (FOR COMPUTER GEEKS) only the physical part of you will die due to degradation when the physical part (call this Hardware) becomes polluted from a deadly virus known as “SIN.” Romans 3:23 ” For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” And Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin (the consequences of the virus) is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.  The software continues on “FOREVER.”

In computer terms, I greatly fear that too many people’s hardware is going to “CRASH AND BURN.” Matthew 10:28 “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.I AM REFERRING TO THE WORST ETERNAL EXPERIENCE AND CONSEQUENCE IMAGINABLE.

For those who are Christians, our operating system is “STORED IN THE CLOUD AND HAS A GREAT BACKUP.” The Christian’s backup is eternally safe and secure. Christians only await their final UPDATE AND UPGRADE with the Creator in Heaven. He will also supply new eternal Hardware and Software.

CONCLUSION

Someone will probably read this article and think it is funny because I have related “LIFE, WORK, EXPERIENCE, CONSEQUENCES, AND OUR OWN HUMAN OPERATING SYSTEM” to computers and phone operating systems. My goal in doing this is the hope that we will understand ourselves better. My real fear is that so many in this world understand and know more about computer and phone operating systems than they understand about their own operating system that God has equipped humans with.

Consider this: “Is your brain more powerful than a computer? Your Brain Is More Powerful Than All The Computers On Earth. Source: Miracle Brain System. The human brain is truly awesome. A typical, healthy one houses some 200 billion nerve cells, which are connected to one another via hundreds of trillions of synapses.”GOD MADE US THIS WAY!” I will quote this again: “Psalm 139:14 “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” Your very creation and conception was and is designed to last forever.

Humanity is operating on its own human system, not God’s. Mankind’s system is only temporary, God’s system is Eternal. God created us to live forever, and we will. All of our being is eternal except for this body of flesh that we live in. The flesh will decay and die. So why is that? BECAUSE SIN IS WORSE THAN ANY VIRUS OR DISEASE, AND WILL KILL US. WHEN YOU BURY A PERSON YOU ONLY BURY THE FLESH BODY. The mental, emotional, social, and spiritual parts of you are eternal and will never die.

If we will be honest with ourselves then we will all admit that we have messed up. made mistakes and blew it, in our lives. We are not perfect and we all have said and done wrong things in our lives. That is known as “SIN.” That means we are ALL sinners in God’s eyes, and God has never and will never accept sin. Sin is totally against everything that God is. What has God said about it? Isaiah 59:2 “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.” SIN BROKE OUR FELLOWSHIP AND RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD. THE BLOOD OF JESUS BOUGHT US BACK.”

God made a way to reconcile us back to Himself. He made a way to restore our fellowship and Relationship with Him again forever. Sin has to be paid for and what God demanded only He could supply, and He did. He sent his only begotten son Jesus, to become our substitute and to die on the cross and pay the payment for our sins-ALL SIN. The innocent paid for the guilty. Jesus paid for our FORGIVENESS from God. So what does God say now? Hebrews 10:7 “And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.” II Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (repentance means changing your mind and agreeing with God).

I believe someone is thinking? O.K. Ray “HOW HAVE I SINNED? Here is your answer. “BY WHAT YOU THINK, DO, AND SAY.” Look deep inside of you. Actions speak louder than words. You and I, all of us have a brain and a conscience. WE ARE ALL GUILTY.

SALVATION AND FORGIVENESS ARE FREE FROM GOD IF YOU WILL ACCEPT IT. Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call (ASK GOD) upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” God, Save me from sin, Forgive me and Clean me. Thank you, God, that Jesus paid for all my sins-AMEN. It is that simple and you will no longer be condemned by God.

John 3:16-18 “ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” JESUS PAID FOR OUR SINS AND FORGIVENESS.
