Thia article is called, “What works in churches today and Why?” What do you think Jesus or the Apostles would think of the modern day Mega-Churches of today? Would they actually be welcome in those places? And here is a very important queation. Churches are growing today because they do the things that entertain the crowds. The gospel is occasionlly mentioned along with Jesus, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit of God. entertainment has replaced the gospel of Jesus Christ in many so called churches. What else has replaced the gospel message and the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus? What is their definition of being a Christian? Has salvation been replaced with their programs?

Many so called pastors are preaching the Philsophy of men, not Gods opinion and His Holy Word. Pulpits are full of men and women, who have never been sent by God, but have been elected by some commitee. When they start to preach the philsophy of men and not the gospel of Christ, then you need to get out of there and go find a gospel teaching and believing church.

Is there a real ministry in the church you attend, so what is it. What is the central theme of the local church and is it biblical or worldly? The churches that are growing are the ones who entertains the people. To many churches are based on carnality and emotionalism, which has replaced Jesus as the central theme. Ephesians 5:20 “Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;” Do you go to church to serve or be served, or entertained. Churches will grow when you entertain them. So, where is the gospel of Jesus Christ in your church, and what has replaced it?

Now understaand this dear reader. In Revelation 2:6 God commands the church to hate the things that he hates and love the things he loves. Do you actually know what those things are? Many scholars believe that, this was denying the true faith or replacing it. Clement of Alexandria says, “They abandoned themselves to pleasure like goats, leading a life of self-indulgence.” Their teaching perverted grace and replaced liberty with license.”

Where is your First Love?

There are so many things that we and churches use to try and draw others into their church. All kinds of entertainment as an attraction. I have often called these worldly things a church circus. So what worldly thing is being used this Sunday to draw people to church? Which Hollywood star will be present to meet and greet you this Sunday or what special person will grace us with their presence> (Dont forget the offering we have promised to them). OPRAH IS IN THE HOUSE, GIVE GOD THE PRAISE  WHOOOOO  HOOOOO. That is how it works.

Dear Reader, what does the Bible tell us about what we are to truly share with others? I will post it here. “REMEMBER YOUR FIRST LOVE.” Now this is genuine and straight from God. Got questions says, “Jesus calls the Ephesian Christians to repent because they have stopped loving as they had initially. They are still very busy, observes Jesus: “I know all the things you do. I have seen your hard work and your patient endurance. I know you don’t tolerate evil people. You have examined the claims of those who say they are apostles but are not. You have discovered they are liars. You have patiently suffered for me without quitting” (Revelation 2:2–3NLT, ). Despite all their labor and patient suffering, Jesus recognizes that they have lost their initial zeal and abandoned their first love.

Some scholars believe “first love” refers to the fresh passion and devotion believers have for Christ when they are newly saved. Set in the context of Revelation 2, “first love” seems also to speak of their love for one another, which Jesus said would “prove to the world that you are my disciples” (John 13:35, NLT). The “first works” mentioned in Revelation 2:5 correspond directly with their “first love.” Their “hard work” and “patient endurance” are commendable. But as time passed, they had become more motivated by a sense of duty than passionate love for God as demonstrated in compassionate service to others.”

I believe this is what the whole world is truly looking for, even if the do not understand it. Dear Christian, do you remember that total feeling of love when you first came to Christ and received Him as your personal Lord and Savior? Nothing else compared to it. And that is what a lost and dying world needs to experience. So, what works in churches and why? Because first love is what they need the most along with Salvation. Worship and service we have given because of who He is and what He has done for us. Christ has been the center of our lives.

WHAT WORKS IN CHURCHES TODAY AND WHY?

Now I have to go in a completely different direction in this article. I have to ask the same question in this new generation and world today. Even worship and service to Christ has changed. In too many so called churches, worship is all about what they call praise and singing/worship. It is all about their program that they can put on. Many will not even have teaching or preaching. It is a musical performance, many have dance moves, light shows, and entertainment of various sorts. What draws you?

I truly have to  wonder if Jesus or the Holy Spirit would be interested in watching these performances? What gospel is being preached and who is being glorified? I have seen too many on the internet that are pure vulgar and embarrassing. That is not for me and that is not my cup of tea. Pastors copying Michael Jacksons dance moves and other entertainers moves and music. It is sickening and I do not believe that God is into that. But you just have to bring the worlds, wordly standards into the church.

So why is this so popular? It is exciting and I can take part. The lights can dim membets can float in the air on cables, like angels. The music is loud and the dancers are doing their performance and invoving everyone. We all can stand, walk, move share what we feel with others. It is the excitment that we share and spread. We can run, jump, hug others, share this with everyone else and praise God together. We are not sitting there listening to some message of how we sin and disappoint our Lord and savior, we are praising God and not being told to come forward and repent of sin and draw closer to God. Our emotions are being stirred and we love the music Crank it up and lets go.

But what about this? II Timothy 4:1-5 “I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.” DEAR READER, THERE IS FIRE THEN THERE IS WILD FIRED, WHICH GETS OUT OF CONTROL. The Apostle Paul said in I Corinthians 14:40 “Let all things be done decently and in order.” IS THIS PRAISING THE LORD?  They now have a new thing where you have to stop the service for “A PRAISE BREAK.” Here is one. PLAY IT NOW.

CONCLUSION

Here is the bottomline and what I consider the most important thing in this whole article. We can argue about this and how God should be honored in church and worship. The most important point I can make is this. You need to know beyond any doubt, that you have been saved and redeemed by the shed blood of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sin. This is the main goal and priority of Salvation by Jesus, and Gods forgiveness of All sin against Him. That is what will get you to heaven. Anything else is secondary.

If you have never been truly born again then please listen to me.

Will You, turn from yourself and turn to God, for FORGIVENESS and have a personal relationship with Him. God will save you and give you eternal life with him just as He did with me. It’s all yours for the asking. Again Romans 10:13 “For who so ever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Will you, Bow your heart, turn to Him, and ASK, CALL ON HIM. He will instantly SAVE YOU. JESUS IS THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN SEPARATE YOU FROM SIN.  WE CAN BE GODS CHILDREN, SAVED AND FORGIVEN FOR ALL ETERNITY.

If you have asked, called upon God, for forgiveness of sin and Salvation, please let me know below in the comment section so I can rejoice with you. Your thoughts, opinions and comments are welcome so leave them below in the comment section. Now enjoy this beautiful song. RAY
