I want to start by asking a few questions, “What Is The Power of Love? Do you know? What would be your answer?” Equally important is another question, “What would be the basis of your answer?” Let’s see if you agree with this statement when I say, “The most powerful force on earth is love.”                               4616428_2015_48 (Large)

WORDS AND ACTIONS OF LOVE

Words of love and actions are closely related. There is the old saying, “Actions speaks louder than words.” Another saying, “What you do speaks so loud I can’t hear what you are saying.” A friend told me, “There are words of the mind and words of the heart.” Words are powerful and we can choose our words. You cannot choose the effect they will have on others. You cannot prove love with words. The most powerful expression of love must come through actions, not words. Your words of love and your actions of love must be equal. This is why so many say, “If you love me then prove it.” Too many times words are empty and vain. Actions are powerful and validates your words.HOW AND WHY DOES THE POWER OF LOVE EXIST?I am not a philosopher. I cannot tell you what is the essence of love, or the substance of love. This has been debated for 200 years. I only have a Biblical basis for the question. I can tell you the power of love can change your life. It will change your life for better or worse and there are consequences. I will share my belief now.THE POWER OF LOVE THAT MEETS HUMAN NEEDSThe power of love expresses that you care and meets human needs. It’s true power is in giving and receiving. I have heard this statement,”Love is a verb and a verb is an action word.” In this case there must be an action with love for it to be useful and effective. We all have basic human needs. I believe the power of love has the ability to satisfy our human need. Needs can be satisfied; human wants never will be. There are too many lists of what we call human needs so I will not list them all. I will include love, personal fulfillment, acceptance, value, identity, belonging, safety and protection. I will say, “Every person is a physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual being with needs.” The power of love gives meaning, direction and purpose for our life. It meets our needs, desires and makes our life complete in each area.IS THE POWER OF LOVE GOD’S GIFT TO MANKIND

Under the heading, How and Why Does the Power of Love Exist? I said, “I am not a philosopher and only have a Biblical basis for my belief.” I do believe the power of love is God’s gift to humanity, I will explain and tell you why: “IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO LOVE WITHOUT GIVING.”In the Bible, I Corinthians chapter 12 deals with Life and Spiritual gifts. In the Greek it is called, “Soma, Body Life.” It deals with body life, gifts, and Spiritual life. All within the church and the body of Christ. The purpose of these gifts is to make the entire body complete. This is to make sure there is no separation or division in the body. Chapter 12 ends with the Apostle Paul saying, “I will show you a more excellent way.”

The very next verse shows this more excellent way. I Corinthians Chapter 13 is regarded as the Love chapter in the Bible. This chapter states that Love is paramount. Love is greater than any gift. It tells us, all gifts are worthless without love. The best and greatest gifts must be ministered with love, or they are worthless. Verse 4-8 tells us what love is and what love is not. Verse 8 tells us, all else will fail, but love never fails. Chapter 13 ends with this verse. (NIV 1 Corinthians 13:13)  “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”                                                                                                                                    gods-love

CONCLUSIONHere is my opinion. The Bible says, “God is Love” (KJV 1 John 4:8) and the Creator of all things.” (KJV Genesis 1:1). This includes love and the power of love. There was no love before God. I started with the question, “What is the power of love.” It is a gift from God Himself. As I showed above, Love never fails. Everything else will fail but love and its power will not.

Love is the most powerful force on earth. I believe this gift was given to us to meet our needs in life. Given to make this life meaningful and complete. Love and its power are an everlasting work. It will burn forever. It will never fade or diminish. (Romans 8:38-39)
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.(KJV John 3:16) God so loved the world He gave.Your thoughts, opinions and comments are welcome. I love that you base your thoughts on love around the Bible. There can be no greater example of love than when God sacrificed his son for all of us and gave us that “get out of jail free” card. I think about that a lot. What would it take for me to offer up my own son? I am too selfish to make that choice — once that sinks in I think you get a whole new perspective on this life we’re living.

Thank you Don for the comment Don. I agree with you 100%. Love is ingrained in every person How we use and share it makes the difference in this life and our eternal life to come.

Ah, “The Power of Love”… Celine Dion, just doesn’t get prettier or more romantic than that does it? Still, I have to admit that love (for me) is more upbeat and energetic – like in the “The Power of Love” by Huey Lewis & the News https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WK0z87WrhGo

“The Power of Love is a curious thing
make a one man weep, make another man sing
Change a hawk to a little white dove
more than a feeling that’s the power of love.” Etc.

Best of all is your knowledge that “God is love”. Once we grasp (even as limited as we can) HIS love, we have the ultimate floor plan… but it’s tough looking at love through His eyes because then we would see – Love is what you give – not what you demand. Wouldn’t it all be grand if because we loved that we were loved in return?

Your site is wonderful… an awesome thought-provoking tribute to LOVE.

    Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your kind words and comments. I agree with you 100% If we all truly loved our neighbors as ourselves, this whole world would be different. Come back and share anytime.
