This article is called Forgiven or Unforgiven? These two terms are completely opposites. These 2 terms also apply to every human’s life (and eternal life) and both carry consequences that are also eternal. I want to talk about our earthly life and everyone’s eternal life. Someone will surely say, “I do not believe in that eternal life stuff. First you live then you die, that is it your existence ends in the grave.” I want to say, “You are entitled to your opinion, even if you are wrong.” Why do I want to talk about Religion and Salvation? They are 2 opposites and are totally different. So many people associate Religion as just another name for Salvation or an organized Religion. Dear Reader, there is truly only one Salvation but there are hundreds of Religions.
THE CHRISTIAN DISTINCTION
What is the Christian Distinction? What makes it different from any other Religion? The real difference is this. “JESUS CHRIST, GOD THE FATHER AND THE HOLY SPIRIT, AND THEIR WORK IN TRUE SALVATION“. No other Religion accepts this fact. God the Father planned salvation, God the Son, came to earth and paid for salvation, and God the Holy Spirit makes it real and places us in “The body of Christ”, while He himself comes to live and indwell in us.
Jesus told us this before his trial, death, burial and resurrection. John 16:7-11 “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter,(THE HOLY SPIRIT) will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;11 Of judgment, because the prince (SATAN) of this world is judged. This is the job of the blessed Holy Spirit, who convicts the entire world of SIN, RIGHTEOUSNESS, JUDGEMENT. He indwells every saved, born again and blood washed Christian. He leads and guides us in the path of right living.
He fulfills the promise of Jesus where He said, Hebrews 13:5 “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” To understand more of The Holy Spirits work, click on this link. The Holy Spirit is the one who places every Christian into the body of Christ at Salvation and He restrains Satan’s, Demons, and Evil Spirits, power in our lives. IS THERE A PROCESS THAT WE CALL SALVATION?
I believe there is a process or an order that happens in Salvation. The Holy Spirit not only convicts’ people of sin but brings them to “REPENTANCE.” II Corinthians 7:10 ” For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.” No one is saved apart from the Spirit’s convicting and regenerating work in the heart. (The heart is the mind, the will and the emotions of every human). The Holy Spirits takes the Word of God and uses it to show us our wicked sinful ways, and our separation and lost condition before a Holy God. He shows us how sin kills us and death is the penalty and consequence of sin. And He shows us the price that Jesus paid on the cross for OUR FORGIVENESS of sin.
Only Jesus satisfied the Father and gained our ACCEPTANCE for us, from the Father. Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Our SALVATION IS THE FREE GIFT OF GOD BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH IN CHRIST. It is not of us humans, if it were then we all could boast and say we did it, we earned it by our own works. I deserve SALVATION BECUSE I WORKED VERY HARD TO GET IT.
THIS IS THE CHRISTIAN DISTINCTION FROM THE GOD OF THE BIBLE! YOU CANNOT WORK YOUR WAY TO HEAVEN, YOU CANNOT EARN SALVATION BY YOUR OWN WORKS OR GOOD THINGS THAT YOU DO. JESUS CHRIST ALREADY PAID FOR IT AND BOUGHT SALVATION WITH THE SACRIFICE OF HIS OWN BLOOD AND BODY FOR US-THANK YOU JESUS.
IF JESUS CHRIST IS NOT IN THE CENTER OF YOUR SALVATION, THEN YOU HAVE A RELIGION. IF JESUS CHRIST IS NOT IN THE CENTER OF YOUR SALVATION, THEN YOU HAVE A RELIGION. IF JESUS CHRIST IS NOT IN THE CENTER OF YOUR SALVATION, THEN YOU HAVE A RELIGION. Yes, I said it 3 times, it is no mistake. Understand and let this sink into your heart, mind and soul. Because it is a “FACT.” Religion, Religious actions, and Religious works, will send you to HELL. Scholars who have years of study and knowledge have stated they have studied RELIGIONS FOR YEARS. They state that since the time that we humans know of, they have traced over 4200 FALSE RELIGIONS throughout our history.
I personally believe that Satan himself, started every one of them. Because I promise on the authority of God’s Word, God never started any Religion. Why would Satan do that? To keep you away from Salvation and God. To keep you away from the one Satan hates and tried to overthrow in Heaven. Satan’s goal is to make you, his child. What did Jesus tell the Religious rulers of his day here on earth? John 8:44 “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.“
ANYTHING YOU REPLACE OR SUBSTITUE FOR JESUS CHRIST IS A FALSE RELIGION.
All false religions are based on their own good works-what they are doing, they deserve salvation because their own MAN-MADE works earned it. I can work my way to heaven and earn it. I work hard to keep the do’s and do nots. This is also legalism. RELIGIONS WILL KILL YOU AND PLACE YOU IN HELL. THERE IS ONLY UNFORGIVENESS IN RELIGIONS. BUT THERE IS TOTAL FORGIVENESS FOREVER IN GODS’ SALVATION THROUGH JESUS CHRIST.
Religions really do not accept or really deal with the SIN ISSUE. All the way back in the garden of Eden, our original parents (Adam and Eve) were created by God and given a great gift that you have-it is called “FREE WILL.” They were not created as ROBOTS and had the ability to CHOOSE. Eve was deceived by the devil, but Adam was not deceived. They used their own free will to choose and sin. ALL SIN IS AGAINST GOD BECAUSE OF WHO HE IS. GOD HAS A STANDARD THAT IS BASED UPON HIMSELF.
Our original parents separated all of mankind from God. All humanity LOST OUR RELATIONSHIP AND FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD THE FATHER. Isaiah 59:2 “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have “hid his face from you”, that he will not hear.” This is where our relationship and fellowship with God CHANGED. GOD NEVER HAS AND NEVER WILL ACCEPT SIN, BUT HE WILL FORGIVE IT.
There are many Religions on earth, and they will ALL send you to hell. BECAUSE THEY DO NOT RECONCILE OR DEAL WITH THE SIN ISSUE, WHICH IS GODS AND MANS PROBLEM.
The sin issue has been all of mankind’s and God’s problem from the beginning. God did not create all of mankind just to burn us in hell. God never created ROBOTS, He gave all of us a great gift called FREE WILL, and you have it also. You have the CHOICE to accept or reject God and his forgiveness of sin. God provided the way of forgiveness for us. He sent his perfect only begotten son JESUS to pay the consequences of sin for us. Jesus took our place as our substitute and suffered and died on a Roman cross for ALL SIN-EVERYONES SIN, so we could be reconciled back to God and FORGIVEN. II Corinthians 5:21 “For he (GOD) hath made him ( JESUS) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
I am saved from sin and forgiven because Jesus took my place and paid the penalty for ALL of my wrong doings and sin. I will always have eternal life with God in heaven. You can also, or you can choose eternity in hell and pay the consequences of your own sins. THIS IS YOUR CHOICE. Here is what God says: Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call (ASK FOR FORGIVENESS) upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” If you have never asked God for forgiveness, I pray that you will right now and have eternal life in heaven forever.
